Learning objective: to be able to calculate the minimum and maximum possible area of a selection of 2D shapes.

Students will be required to remember how to calculate the area of a rectangle, triangle, parallelogram and trapezium for this lesson. (from Autumn 2)
Additionally students are required to find the product of decimal values confidently. (from Autumn 2)
Enabling students access to their rulers will also help those students that may still find determining the upper and lower bound of an integer tricky. Further practice with working out upper and lower bounds could be done by doing this activity prior to this lesson
